With Sanjay Dutt already becoming a hit in Uttar Pradesh in his new role as a politician, the actor on Saturday said that he wants to serve the people of the country.

Sanjay Dutt, who will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from Lucknow constituency on a Samajwadi Party ticket, said at his first press conference as a ‘neta’ that he was looking forward to becoming a politician and serve the nation. Dutt also said that he was thankful to SP for giving him a chance to serve the people.
It was a star-studded press conference where Dutt was flanked by actors Manoj Tewari, Jaya Prada and Jaya Bachchan. He was also accompanied with his wife Manyatta and SP party leaders Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh.
On his decision to join to the SP, Dutt stated that post the demise of his father Sunil Dutt, he felt lonely. In this bleak time, it was Amar Singh who stayed alongside him, he added. After coming to Lucknow, Dutt said further, he feels that he is not alone.
Dutt thanked Amar Singh and Mulayam Singh for their support and especially mentioned Digvijay Singh -- a senior Congressmen -- for saying that it was wrong to arrest him (Sanjay) under TADA. Dutt noted that it was after 17 years when Congress had said something on his arrest.
He reiterated that his father did a lot for the nation and he looks forward to doing the same for the nation.
Talking about the elections, Dutt made it clear that he will not contest from Lucknow if BJP veteran and former PM Atal Behari Vajpayee decides to contest from the same constituency.

'The Roar of a Lion'-Sanjay Dutt's on Story

Fans of popular Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt can read about his eventful life in his autobiography, "The Roar of a Lion", which he is now working on.

"Sanjay Dutt's autobiography is called 'The Roar of a Lion' and it is almost half way done," a well-placed source in the film industry told reporters here Saturday, revealing the title that was the subject of much guesswork so far. The date for the book's release has not been decided as Dutt is busy with his film schedules.

He had long been telling friends about his wish to pen an autobiography. When he told his wife Manyata about it, she backed him to the hilt.

Meanwhile, Dutt's filmmaker friend Sanjay Gupta too has commissioned a biography of the actor as a tribute to him. To be penned by journalist, author and lyricist Neelesh Mishra, it will be in three volumes covering Dutt's life in three phases.

The first volume will deal with the period when the star went into drug rehabilitation. The second volume will recount his marriage to Richa Sharma, their divorce and her tragic death, while the final volume will be about his legal battles, probation and life beyond all that.

Bollywood is not a hot story for British Media

“None of the British press was interested in taking photos of Sonam or her father. To them they were unknowns and not newsworthy,” says the source.

Bollywood’s UNICEF connection

Few know that NISHABD fame Jiah Khan was an UNICEF ambassador. A close friend of the actress revealed, “Jiah first modeled for UNICEF when she was barely six. She became a UNICEF brand ambassador once again when she 12.”

The friend said at the tender age of 6 Jiah had no idea what charity was all about. By the time she turned 12 she felt very strongly for charity work and thus chose to be UNICEF brand ambassador once again.

“Jiah has always believed in doing charity work and has even made short film on child abuse. Jiah feels very strongly for the issue of child abuse and aims to take active steps to put an end to it permanently.”
